What's Obie?

Did you know that Commercial Real Estate (CRE) still operates in the same way it has for decades — through opaque systems?
We sat down with Ryan Letzeiser is the Co-Founder and CEO of Obie, which aims to improve access to technology in order to make owning and transacting commercial real estate faster and more cost-effective.

The company's goal is to build the next generation commercial real estate platform, consolidating and democratizing technology while connecting the community to search, manage, and listing experiences intelligent and seamless.

Obie aims to re-engineer the CRE asset lifecycle from the ground up. It using technology to make it faster and more efficient, and humans to help make it friendly and enjoyable.

Is Obie really free?

Yes, Obie is 100% free. No tricks or gimmicks—the platform is free to use.

How can Obie be free?
We use the information you have contained within offering materials and asset management tools to help owners find insurance and financing products for their assets. Obie also has partnerships with vendors that can serve supplementary products to owners that may request it.

If I request a quote from Obie will I get a ton of unwanted phone calls from multiple lenders or insurance carriers?
No. Only a single lender or broker who is specifically affiliated with Obie and is licensed to work in your area will receive your contact information. Yet, unlike other sites, your information will not be shared with multiple lenders or carriers.

Why should I use a service to find financing and insurance?
Most investor owners find a lender or insurance broker based on a recommendation from a colleague or real estate broker, but that won’t guarantee you’ll get the best rate or the best service. Obie has created an insurance and lending solution that encourages transparency on all levels.

Is my information secure?
It is committed to keeping information safe and secure. It uses the same encryption and security used by major banking institutions. It never resells client information.

Why should a client use Obie?
It will drastically reduce the amount of time it takes to market, communicate, analyze, and close a deal.

How is the information stored on Obie protected?
Every step has been taken to ensure that a client's information and privacy is protected. It has RSA 512-bit encryption and operates on SAS 70 Type II certified servers. It is as secure as the major banks and will continue to update our protection measures as they become available.

What can a broker do with it?
Brokers can build marketing materials, list properties to their public or private Obie marketplace, update rent roll, financials, and documents, view listing engagement analytics, and much more—all in real-time.

What can an investor do with this?
Investors can view property teasers, receive offering memorandums instantly to their private dashboard upon execution of an electronic confidentiality agreement, and underwrite the properties on its integrated financial modeling tool.

What asset classes does Obie cover?

Currently, Obie will launch with the ability to market and underwrite Office, Industrial, Retail, and Multifamily with Hospitality and Public Storage coming soon.

What's next?

Obie will soon be changing the company name to Kladok and launching a new website and products. Stay tuned as exciting developments are rolled out in 2019.
