Invest in Your Professional Development

In the often busy and budget-constrained world of associations and nonprofits, communicators are always looking for ways to be more effective and efficient. Understanding best practices can help us do more for our organizations while advancing our own professional development.

That’s why I’m so excited for the sessions planned for our upcoming Association/Nonprofit Section half-day conference in Boston. Our keynote luncheon features Deirdre Breakenridge, CEO of Pure Performance Communications, who will discuss the evolving roles of public relations professionals. As Breakenridge notes, the most successful PR professionals are learning new skills and competencies, growing professionally and taking on new responsibilities.

If you want to learn new skills, grow professionally and prepare for expanded responsibilities, I suggest taking a step today toward those goals: register for the conference!

The program is focused on the issues most important to those in our field — topics like content marketing, email communications, social media and more. I invite you to explore the program and find which sessions you could use most to help further your organization and your career.

The half-day conference is less than $200 for early-bird Section members. It will be held Oct. 7, the Saturday before the PRSA International Conference begins in Boston, allowing those attending both events to save on travel costs.

For more information about the program or to register, visit the conference website. I hope to see you in October!
