When PRSA launched the brand-new website this past October, the Executive Committee of the Independent Practitioners Alliance (IPA) began discussions about how we could best use this new tool to serve our members. As busy indies ourselves, we thought about what kinds of resources we would want to plug into, and the option to read insightful blogs rose to the top of our list.

As such, today we launch the IPA blog, which we hope will serve as the springboard for many upcoming conversations among our membership. While members of our Executive Committee will be contributing to these posts at the onset, it is our hope that this forum will become self-sustaining and that members will contribute more and more over time. Heaven knows that any insight you may have about client relations or best practices on running your business will be helpful to other independent practitioners in our network. If you'd like to contribute and want to review a suggested list of blog guidelines, please visit our IPA Library (members only), where you'll also find a variety of templates to help your business.

In the coming months, expect to see some blog topics addressing social media tips and tricks, applying for M/WBE status as an indie, working as a professor, and growing your business, which will post here and be promoted via the PRSA IPA Communities forum. We welcome comments and feedback. Along those same lines, if you have a topic about which you’d like to read more, please let us know. You can e-mail Lauren@sproutpublicrelations.com with any blog topics you’d like to see addressed, and if you’re the appropriate person to address those topics, please do speak up! We’d love to see as much participation here as possible.

As always, we welcome any feedback as we launch this blog. Blogs are most successful when they are engaging, so please do engage!

Sincerely yours,

The Independent Practitioners Alliance Executive Committee
